The Story of the Black Java Chicken Rescue Mission:
Our farm made the journey to Fines Creek, North Carolina just four days before Hurricane Helene devastated the region. To date, there is not yet confirmation that the farm itself or any of the other endangered Black Java chickens being cultivated there, survived the storm, though we have received word that the farm family are safe. We had no idea how critical this mission trip would become! We considered postponing our trip, but God encouraged us to keep our travel plans. The Java is an ancient breed of chicken and, according to the Livestock Conservancy, the second oldest breed in the US. Originally from Java, they were introduced into early American settlements and the breed standard was accepted in 1883.
 
At Cluster Flock Farm, we are wholly dedicated to preserving our heritage for our future by nurturing our heritage breed livestock and heirloom crops. We share our mission with our community through preservation, propagation, and education.
Black Javas are the second oldest breed of chicken in America (the oldest being the endangered Dominque breed which is also protected here at our farm).
 
Super Black Java was born from our love of our Black Java chickens and our love of coffee (our beans are craft roasted right here in Bowdon, GA). This smooth, dark roast will get you goin' and crowin' before the break of dawn.
